Byron Bay Contemporary Artspace is a combined Art Gallery and independent Art School located in lovely heritage premises in central Byron Bay.
Covid-safe measures are in place for health and well-being, and spaces are air conditioned for year round comfort.
We offer fun holistic learning programs for Kids, Teens and Adults. Small relaxed classes ensure individualised mentoring style support.
After-school term, Saturday and Holiday classes are structured to suit different age groups and abilities.
We are committed to creating a relaxed learning environment where Kids, Teens and Adults have the encouragement, support and technical ‘know how’ to achieve their creative goals.
Our MZ Gallery features works from emerging artists and is also available for exhibition hire.
Our goal is to create a dynamic creative hub for the visual arts in Byron Bay that promotes local artists and engages the community.
We also host events such as kids and adults Art Parties, Lifedrawing & Wine Evenings and Corporate Team Building Art Events. Our creative spaces provides a boutique venue for seminars, meetings, presentations or creative pop-up events.
Our founder Dr. Michele Zarro is passionate about visual arts and has been a practicing artist for over 20 years.
She possess vast knowledge in the subject area of visual arts and was awarded a PhD, MVA and BVA (Hons. Class1) from the University of Sydney. Michele is registered to teach Visual Arts in NSW with Grad. Dip. Edu from the University of New England. She also studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and is a International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme examiner.
She has extensive exhibition and curatorial experience in Australia and overseas and holds a current NSW Working With Children Check.
